The 2022/23 season of The Park’s Motor Group Scottish Lowland Football League.

Broomhill vs Civil Service Strollers

Both sides shared the spoils with home victories, last season – with Civil Service Strollers winning 3-1, and Broomhill securing a 4-1 win.

Broomhill currently sit in 9th place with 11 points from eight games – made up of three wins, three defeats, and two draws.

Having been undefeated in five league games, as well as keeping five consecutive clean sheets, the Broom come into this with back-to-back defeats.

Civil Service Strollers find themselves in 7th place with 14 points from eight played – made up of four wins, two draws, and two defeats.

Strollers have lost only one of their previous six Lowland League games – with that bump in the road coming at the cost of Gretna 2008’s first win of the season. They’ll be coming in with confidence, having bounced back with a 2-0 win over Bo’ness United.

Caledonian Braves vs Gretna 2008

Caledonian Braves took maximum points off Gretna 2008, last season – thanks to 6-0 and 1-0 victories.

Caley Braves find themselves in 16th place with five points from eight played – made up of one win, two draws, and five defeats.

Having gone five straight defeats since their opening day win, The Braves come into this having picked up points from back-to-back draws with Hearts B and East Stirlingshire.

Gretna 2008 are second from bottom in 17th place – with three points from nine games played.

Having started with seven straight defeats, Gretna 2008 found their first three points with a dramatic last-minute winner v Civil Service Strollers.

The Anvils came crashing back down with a heavy 8-0 loss away to Tranent – making that 48 goals conceded, and five scored.

Cowdenbeath vs Tranent

It was Tranent who got the better of the two sides, last season – winning 4-2 at Foresters, followed by a 0-0 draw at Central Park.

Cowdenbeath sit in 8th place with 12 points from seven played – made up of three wins, three draws, and one loss.

Following their 4-2 defeat away to East Kilbride, The Blue Brazil bounced back with a 2-0 win away to Berwick Rangers – and look on course to better last season’s 15th place finish.

Tranent currently sit in 4th place with 16 points from eight games played – made up of five wins, two defeats, and a draw, six points off league leaders, East Kilbride.

The Big T will be hoping to get a third consecutive victory for the first time, this season – following their 2-1 win over Stirling Uni and comprehensive 8-0 victory over Gretna 2008.

Gala Fairydean Rovers vs Edinburgh University

Gala Fairydean Rovers took maximum points off Edinburgh University, last season – thanks to 3-2 and 2-0 victories.

Gala Fairydean Rovers currently find themselves in 12th place with 10 points from eight games played – made up of three wins, four losses, and a draw.

Having suffered three straight defeats, GFR come into this having found form with back-to-back victories over Broomhill and Stirling Uni.

Edinburgh University find themselves at the foot of the table – having only managed a point from eight games played.

Their draw against an impressive Linlithgow Rose side was quickly quashed – as they come into this off the back of a 9-0 drubbing at the hands of East Kilbride.

Linlithgow Rose vs East Kilbride

This is the first time both sides have faced each other.

Linlithgow Rose currently find themselves in 6th place with 14 points from eight played – made up of four wins, two draws, and two defeats.

The Rose are the joint-second top scorers, alongside Tranent, finding the back of the net 24 times, and come into this off the back of consecutive 2-2 draws v Edinburgh University and Hearts B.

East Kilbride are flying at the top of the table with 22 points from eight games, three points clear of second place, Cumbernauld Colts, with EK having a game in hand.

The Kilby are the only team to have yet to taste defeat in the Lowland League, this season – having won seven and drawn one. They are also the top scorers, with 33 goals, and have conceded seven.

Berwick Rangers vs Cowdenbeath

Berwick Rangers defeated Cowdenbeath 2-1 and 4-0 in the league last season. However, Cowdenbeath managed to knock them out of the Lowland League Cup, thanks to a 2-0 win.

Berwick Rangers currently find themselves in ninth place with 11 points.

The Wee Gers lost their opening two games, followed by two back-to-back draws, and come into this on the back of three consecutive victories.

Liam Buchanan of Berwick Rangers is currently the joint-top scorer, with eight goals from seven played.

Cowdenbeath sit in 11th place, two points behind Berwick Rangers – having picked up nine points from their six played.

The Blue Brazil come into this having suffered their first defeat of the season, 4-2 to East Kilbride, and will be looking to get back to picking up points again – with the form that saw them undefeated in five games.

Celtic B vs Albion Rovers

Celtic B currently find themselves occupying 13th in the Lowland League.

Having tallied up seven points in seven games – the Young Hoops lost on the opening day, then managed two wins and a draw, but come into this having lost three consecutive matches.

Albion Rovers have enjoyed a solid start to their inaugural season in the Lowland League – having played four games due to competing in the Viaplay Cup Group Stage.

Since their opening day defeat to Hearts B, Rovers have hit form – coming into this with three consecutive wins behind them.

Civil Service Strollers vs Bo’ness United

Last season, both meetings between the two sides finished 0-0 – making that three draws in their five previous meetings, with either side having one win apiece.

Civil Service Strollers currently sit in 8th place with 11 points – made up of three wins, two draws, and two defeats.

Having gone four games undefeated, Strollers come into this off the back of a last-minute winner that saw them lose 2-1 away to Gretna 2008, last weekend.

Bo’ness United find themselves in fourth – having picked up 15 points from their opening seven games.

Having won their first five games, Bo’ness United come into this having suffered back-to-back defeats.
