This weekend the Lowland League will host the first ever GroundHop event in Scotland.
It’s expected around 250 football fans from across the Country will take part in the weekend organised by GroundHop UK.
Groundhop UK are an organisation which arranges visits to non-league grounds across Britain and their trip to K-Park on Friday night will be their first north of the border.
The groundhoppers are expected to make the trip with bus loads from the likes of Cardiff and London heading up for a packed weekend of football that will see them take in six Lowland League matches.
Following the Friday night opener at East Kilbride , the groundhoppers will take in a further five matches across Scotland with staggered kick-offs over Saturday and Sunday.
East Kilbride’s club secretary, Dave McKenna said “The groundhoppers have never been to Scotland before, so we will be sure to put on a good show for them.
“It’s fantastic to welcome them here and it should really benefit the town, ourselves and the Sports Club financially.
League chairman Andrew Waddell said “We are delighted to welcome everyone who is taking part in the Ground Hop.
“There have been months of planning gone into this weekend and we are grateful to Chris Berazi and his team for organising this.
“I must also thank our fixture secretary, Kenny McLean for liaising with Groundhop UK on our behalf.
“I am sure everyone who turns up to watch any of the games will enjoy them and be welcomed by the host clubs.”
