Edinburgh City were crowned Scottish Sun Lowland League champions last night following East Kilbride’s victory over Whitehill.
City have had a tremendous season and only dropped four league points.
They won the title following Whitehill’s defeat away to East Kilbride.
Last night City gaffer Gary Jardine said “I am delighted with winning the title.
“The boys have worked hard all season and responded well.
“We will concentrate on our game against Dalbeattie tomorrow and celebrate afterwards.”
League chairman Andrew Waddell said “On behalf of the all the clubs and the League board I congratulate Edinburgh City on winning the league.
“They have had a terrific season and I am sure their manager and committee will be delighted that their hard work has paid off.
“As well as winning the title they will no go into the playoffs for the first time in history and have the opportunity to progress to Scottish League Two.
“I know they have the support of all the member clubs and I wish them all the best in the playoffs.”
