2017/18 Lowland Champions Spartans open up their title defence at home in this season’s curtain raiser. Their match against University of Stirling is scheduled to take place at Ainslie Park with a 7.45pm kick off on Friday 27th July.

The Scottish Lowland Football League Annual General Meeting took place yesterday evening at the Elphinstone Hotel in Biggar. The meeting was well attended and was, as usual, a lively post-season exchange of ideas.

The South and East of Scotland League champions will commence battle over two legs beginning this weekend for a place in the Lowland League next season. Threave Rovers will host the first leg at Meadow Park against Kelty Hearts, having won the South of Scotland League collecting 73 points from their 28 games, finishing seven points ahead of closest rivals Mid Annandale.
Next season’s dates for the Scottish Cup have been announced by the Scottish Football Association today. The tournament kicks off with the preliminary rounds in August and early September and culminates with the showpiece final on Saturday 25th May 2019.
