Berwick Rangers vs Cowdenbeath

Berwick Rangers defeated Cowdenbeath 2-1 and 4-0 in the league last season. However, Cowdenbeath managed to knock them out of the Lowland League Cup, thanks to a 2-0 win.

Berwick Rangers currently find themselves in ninth place with 11 points.

The Wee Gers lost their opening two games, followed by two back-to-back draws, and come into this on the back of three consecutive victories.

Liam Buchanan of Berwick Rangers is currently the joint-top scorer, with eight goals from seven played.

Cowdenbeath sit in 11th place, two points behind Berwick Rangers – having picked up nine points from their six played.

The Blue Brazil come into this having suffered their first defeat of the season, 4-2 to East Kilbride, and will be looking to get back to picking up points again – with the form that saw them undefeated in five games.

It was Berwick Rangers who got the better of Celtic B, last season – winning 1-0 at Shielfield and 3-1 at the Excelsior.

Berwick Rangers opened the campaign with two consecutive defeats – 1-0 and 2-1 to Caley Braves and Bo’ness United. This was followed by two draws in a row – 0-0 and 2-2 with Cumbernauld Colts and Stirling Uni.

Having gotten their first win of the season, last weekend – a 2-1 win over East Stirlingshire, the Wee Gers will be looking to make it two on the bounce, whilst keeping their winning streak over the Young Hoops.

Celtic B have began the campaign with fluctuating form. A 1-0 opening day defeat to Cumbernauld Colts was followed by a 5-1 win over Caley Braves.

The Young Hoops left it late to salvage a 2-2 draw v Cowdenbeath, and this was followed by a convincing 5-0 victory over Gala Fairydean Rovers.

Celtic B will be aiming to get over the disappointment of losing 3-1 away to Civil Service Strollers, last weekend, whilst looking for their first win over Berwick Rangers since November 2021.

Berwick Rangers vs University of Stirling

Stirling Uni didn’t lose to Berwick Rangers, last season – with the games ending 2-2 and 3-1. But, The Wee Gers haven’t lost at home to the Uni since 2019.

Both teams come into this with identical form – having lost their opening two games, they both picked up their first point, last weekend.

Berwick Rangers lost their opener 1-0 to Caley Braves, followed by a 2-1 defeat to the only team to have won all their games, so far, Bo’ness United.

Their first point came against Cumbernauld Colts, with both sides cancelling each other out for it to end 0-0.

Stirling Uni lost 3-1 to newly promoted Linlithgow Rose on the opening day, quickly followed by a 3-0 defeat at the hands of Cumbernauld Colts.

They picked up their first point thanks to a 1-1 draw with East Kilbride, a side they didn’t lose to in last season’s league campaign.

Berwick Rangers go into this one with the better head-to-head record from last season – winning 1-0 and drawing 3-3 with Cumbernauld Colts.

The Wee Gers will be disappointed with the start to their 23/24 campaign, having lost on both occasions – 1-0 away to Caley Braves and 2-1 at home to Bo’ness United, despite going into the break with the lead.

Cumbernauld Colts will be delighted with their start to the 23/24 season – defeating Celtic B 1-0 on the opening day, followed by a 3-0 away to Stirling Uni, midweek.

Billy Mortimer will be equally as pleased with his own performance, as the league’s joint top scorer has scored all of The Colts goals, so far.

Berwick Rangers vs Bo’ness United

Berwick Rangers ended their 22/23 campaign winless in their final three games, and that was how their 23/24 season would begin – losing 1-0 to Caley Braves.

It doesn’t get much easier, as they welcome Bo’ness United to Shielfield Park – a side they were unable to beat, last season.

Bo’ness United will be heading south with a coach full of confidence, as their season kicked off after 70 seconds – when Ryan Porteous put his side on course to a 3-0 win over Gala Fairydean Rovers.

Bo’ness will be looking to expand on the unbeaten form against The Wee Gers – with the 22/23 meetings ending with a 1-0 win at Newtown Park, and a 2-2 draw at Shielfield.
