Season: 2023/24

The 2022/23 season of The Park’s Motor Group Scottish Lowland Football League.

Albion Rovers vs Caledonian Braves

This is the first time both sides have met each other.

Albion Rovers currently sit in 15th place with 16 points from their 12 games played – made up of four wins, four draws, and four defeats.

Undefeated in their last five matches, Rovers come into this off the back of three consecutive draws – 0-0’s with Cowdenbeath and Gala Fairydean Rovers sit either side of their 1-1 draw with Cumbernauld Colts.

Caledonian Braves currently sit in 12th place with 19 points from their 16 games played – made up of five games, four draws, and seven defeats.

The Braves have lost one of their last seven matches, 2-1 in a hard-fought battle with league leaders, East Kilbride. They come into this off the back of a 2-2 draw with Tranent, with Greig Stewart finding an injury-time equaliser.

Bo’ness United vs Cowdenbeath

Bo’ness United got the better of the results against Cowdenbeath, last season – drawing 1-1 and winning 3-1.

Bo’ness United currently sit in 5th place with 25 points from their 14 games played – made up of eight wins, one draw, and five defeats.

The B.U’s come into this with back-to-back defeats – losing 3-1 away to University of Stirling, and a 4-3 loss at home to league leaders, East Kilbride.

Cowdenbeath currently sit in 11th place with 19 points from their 15 games played – made up of four wins, seven draws, and four defeats.

The Blue Brazil are undefeated in their last four games. The 1-0 win over Kilwinning Rangers in the Scottish Cup is the solitary victory, with three draws against Caley Braves, Albion Rovers, and Linlithgow Rose in the Lowland League making up the other results.

Broomhill vs Celtic B

Celtic B took maximum points off Broomhill, last season – thanks to 6-2 and 3-0 victories.

Broomhill currently sit in 6th place with 23 points from their 15 games played – made up of seven wins, two draws, and six defeats.

The Broom have won four of their last five games, scoring ten along the way. The other result was a 1-0 defeat away to Gretna 2008.

Celtic B currently sit in 10th place with 19 points from their 14 games played – made up of six wins, one draw, and seven defeats.

The Young Hoops come into this fresh off a 4-0 defeat at the hands of Atletico Madrid in the UEFA Youth League, but, they have back-to-back victories in the Lowland League – with 3-0 and 4-0 wins over Linlithgow Rose and Edinburgh University.

Civil Service Strollers vs Berwick Rangers

Last season, both games between Civil Service Strollers and Berwick Rangers ended with 1-1 draws.

Civil Service Strollers currently sit in 7th place with 23 points from their 15 games played – made up of seven wins, two draws, and six defeats.

Having suffered four consecutive defeats, Strollers come into this with back-to-back away victories under their belt – beating Gala Fairydean Rovers 2-1, and University of Stirling 2-0.

Berwick Rangers currently sit in 14th place with 17 points from their 16 games played – made up of four wins, five draws, and seven defeats.

The Wee Gers have lost eight of their last nine games. The only positive result being the 2-2 draw with Tranent – one that may frustrate the Berwick faithful, giving they were two goals up with five minutes to go.

East Kilbride vs Cumbernauld Colts

Both sides managed home victories against each other, last season – with East Kilbride winning 1-0, and Cumbernauld Colts winning 2-0.

East Kilbride currently sit top of the table as the only undefeated team in the 23/24 Lowland League campaign, at this point – with their 38 points made up of 12 wins and two draws.

The Kilby statistically have the best attack and defence in the Lowland League – scoring 46 goals and conceding 14.

Cumbernauld Colts currently sit in 2nd place with 33 points from their 16 games played – made up of ten wins, three draws, and three defeats.

The Colts are undefeated in their last six games, having won five and drawn the other – scoring 17 goals along the way.

Edinburgh University vs Heart of Midlothian B

Hearts B took maximum points off Edinburgh University, last season – thanks to 9-0 and 3-0 victories.

Edinburgh University sit bottom of the table with four points from their 15 games played – made up of one win, one draw, and 13 defeats.

Uni have the second-worst attacking and defensive record at this point of the 23/24 campaign – scoring 18 goals and conceding 61.

Hearts B currently sit in 3rd place with 30 points from their 16 games played – made up of eight wins, six draws, and two defeats.

The Wee Jambos lost for the first time in eleven games, last time out – losing 1-0 at home to University of Stirling.

Linlithgow Rose vs East Stirlingshire

This is the first time both sides have met each other.

Linlithgow Rose currently sit in 9th place with 20 points from their 14 games played – made up of five wins, five draws, and four defeats.

The Rosey Posey have won three of their last eleven outings – two cup victories over Newtongrange Star and St Peter’s, and a 2-0 Lowland League victory over Civil Service Strollers. Five draws and three defeats make up the other results.

East Stirlingshire currently sit in 16th place with 13 points from their 15 games played – made up of three draws, four draws, and eight defeats.

Since defeating Celtic B 2-1, The Shire come into this off the back of three consecutive defeats – losing 1-0, 3-0, and 4-3 to Caley Braves, Cumbernauld Colts, and Broomhill.

Tranent vs Gala Fairydean Rovers

Tranent got the better of the results against Gala Fairydean Rovers, last season – drawing 0-0 and winning 2-0.

Tranent currently sit in 4th place with 27 points from their 13 games played – made up of eight wins, three draws, and two defeats.

The Big T are on a run of eleven games undefeated. Having won their previous nine, they come into this with back-to-back 2-2 draws – games that were decided in injury time on both occasions. Ben Miller salvaged a draw in the 93rd minute v Berwick Rangers, whilst Caley Braves found their equaliser on the 92nd minute.

Gala Fairydean Rovers currently sit in 8th place with 21 points from their 16 games played – made up of six wins, three draws, and seven defeats.

GFR have won only one of their last six outings, a 5-0 win over Edinburgh University. They have suffered three league defeats and a 5-2 Scottish Cup exit at the hands of Pollok, with their most recent result being a 0-0 draw with Albion Rovers.
