The 2022/23 season of The Park’s Motor Group Scottish Lowland Football League.

Linlithgow Rose vs Broomhill

It was Broomhill that took the points earlier this season – defeating Linlithgow Rose 2-0 at home.

Linlithgow Rose currently sit in 6th place with 29 points from their 17 games played – made up of eight wins, five draws, and four defeats.

The Rosey Posey come into this having scored 11 goals in their previous two matches – defeating Gretna 2008 5-0, and their recent 6-1 win over Gala Fairydean Rovers.

Broomhill currently sit in 9th place with 24 points from their 19 games played – made up of seven wins, three draws, and nine defeats.

The Broom have picked up a point from their last two games – losing 3-1 to Caledonian Braves, and their recent 2-2 draw with Cumbernauld Colts.

Heart of Midlothian B vs Gala Fairydean Rovers

Hearts B are undefeated against Gala Fairydean Rovers – with a 3-0 win sitting between 3-3 and 1-1 draws.

Hearts B currently sit in 3rd place with 39 points from their 20 games played – made up of 11 wins, six draws, and three defeats.

Following three consecutive victories, the Wee Jambos come into this following a 2-1 defeat away to Cowdenbeath.

Gala Fairydean Rovers currently sit in 13th place with 21 points from their 19 games played – made up of six wins, three draws, and ten defeats.

GFR come into this without a league win in their last six games – losing five (three consecutively) and drawing the other.

Berwick Rangers vs Edinburgh University

Both sides have already met twice this season, with Berwick Rangers leaving East Peffermill with victories on both occasions – defeating Edinburgh University 4-1 in the league, followed by a 3-1 in the South Challenge Cup.

Berwick Rangers currently sit in 15th place with 17 points from their 18 games played – made up of four wins, five draws, and nine defeats.

The Wee Gers come into this following a 2-1 defeat away to Cumbernauld Colts, making that eight consecutive league matches without a victory.

Edinburgh University currently sit bottom of the table with five points from their 17 games played – made up of one win, two draws, and 14 defeats.

The Uni will feel hard done by coming into this off the back of a 2-2 draw with Albion Rovers – with Rovers manager, Sandy Clark admitting his side may have been lucky to take a point from the game.

Broomhill vs Cumbernauld Colts

Both sides have already met twice this season, with each side being victorious over the other – Cumbernauld Colts won 2-1 during league duty, whilst Broomhill secured a 3-1 in the Scottish Cup.

Broomhill currently sit in 10th place with 23 points from their 18 games played – made up of seven wins, two draws, and nine defeats.

The Broom come into this off the back of a 3-1 defeat away to Caledonian Braves, their first defeat at the hands of The Braves since New Years Day 2022.

Cumbernauld Colts currently sit in 3rd place with 39 points from their 19 games played – made up of 12 wins, three draws, and four defeats. They sit behind second-placed Hearts B on goal difference.

The Colts come into this with a 2-1 victory over Berwick Rangers, having defeated them only once on their seven previous meetings.

Celtic B vs East Kilbride

Both sides have already met twice this season, with East Kilbride being victorious over Celtic B on both occasions – knocking them out of the SPFL Trust Trophy with a 3-1 win, as well as their 2-1 triumph in the league.

Celtic B currently sit in 9th place with 23 points from their 16 games played – made up of seven wins, two draws, and seven defeats.

The Young Hoops last domestic outing saw a 3-3 draw with Cowdenbeath, but they come into this fresh off a late 3-2 defeat at the hands of Feyenoord in the UEFA Youth League.

East Kilbride are currently top of the table with 44 points from their 17 games played – made up of 14 wins, two draws, and one defeat.

Having suffered their first league defeat of the season with a 4-2 loss to second-place Hearts B, The Kilby returned the scoreline – coming into this off the back of a 4-2 win over Gala Fairydean Rovers.

Civil Service Strollers vs Caledonian Braves

Civil Service Strollers have won the last two of their three previous meetings with Caledonian Braves – winning 2-0 last season, and 1-0 earlier this season. Braves won the other 22/23 meeting 3-1.

Civil Service Strollers currently sit in 8th place with 26 points from their 17 games played – made up of eight wins, two draws, and seven defeats.

Having won three consecutive games, Strollers come into this having lost 3-0 to Hearts B. The game was abandoned when coach, Michael Pentland needed medical attention. Everyone at the Lowland League wishes Michael a speedy recovery.

Caledonian Braves currently sit in 11th place with 22 points from their 19 games played – made up of six wins, four draws, and nine defeats.

Braves come into this confident after a 3-1 win over Broomhill at Alliance Park.

East Stirlingshire vs Albion Rovers

Both clubs have a long history of meeting each other in the SPFL, but, Albion Rovers would come out on top of their first Lowland League fixture, defeating East Stirlingshire 3-1.

East Stirlingshire currently sit in 16th place with 13 points from their 18 games played – made up of three wins, four draws, and 11 defeats.

The Shire come into this with five consecutive defeats in Lowland League duty, and will be hoping for a positive result.

Albion Rovers currently sit in 13th place with 20 points from their 14 games played – made up of five wins, five draws, and four defeats.

Rovers come into this having managed to salvage a point against Edinburgh University. Uni looked certain to win it with a last-minute penalty putting them ahead. But, Rovers got a late penalty of their own, making it 2-2.

Gala Fairydean Rovers vs Linlithgow Rose

Linlithgow Rose were the victors in their meeting with Gala Fairydean Rovers earlier this season, winning with a convincing 5-0 scoreline.

Gala Fairydean Rovers currently sit in 12th place with 21 points from their 18 games played – made up of six wins, three draws, and nine defeats.

GFR are without a win in their five previous Lowland League matches – including last weekends 4-2 defeat to East Kilbride, a match GFR were leading 2-0.

Linlithgow Rose currently sit in 7th place with 26 points from their 16 games played – made up of seven wins, five draws, and four defeats.

The Rosey Posey will be looking to maintain the level of performance that saw them defeat Gretna 2008 5-0, last weekend.
