I thought announcing myself as Media & PR Manager of the Scottish Lowland League was the weirdest thing I’d ever have to do in this job, but here we go…
As of March 3rd, I will be leaving my post at the Lowland League. Usually that wouldn’t be cause enough for a statement, because who cares, right? But if you’ll allow me to be a bit self-indulgent for a few lines, I wanted to take the opportunity to thank everyone who has been part of our growth at the GeoSonic Lowland League over the last season and a half.
To you, the supporters of the Lowland League, thank you. You are the most passionate, hardcore, opinionated bunch of people I’ve ever had the pleasure to get to know and I’m so proud to have had a chance to talk about your clubs.
To the volunteer Media Team who put together amazing written and audio/visual content every week, to the Club Media teams who are always so supportive, to the Board who have given me the freedom to make big changes and try new things. I’d also like to say thanks to our partners, Football Stadium Prints and RockSport Radio, and of course to the league sponsor GeoSonic.
Anyway, enough of my Oscars speech. Onto the really exciting part!
I’m delighted to say that Ronan Alexander will be taking over the reins from me and I can’t wait to see him take the Lowland League to the next level over the rest of the season and beyond.
Ronan has been working tirelessly as a volunteer behind the scenes on the Lowland League and has been putting in the hard yards over more than a year with us. You may recognise him from his media work with Hawick Royal Albert in the East of Scotland League, The Spartans’ matchday programme, and of course being an evangelist for Tommy Patterson’s goalscoring exploits at Gala Fairydean Rovers.
I’m delighted that he’s going to make the step up to run the show! He’ll be joined by a designer in due course and I’m excited to see how their collaboration works out.
Exciting times are ahead and I hope you’ll show Ronan as much support as you’ve shown me in my time with the Lowland League!
