University of Stirling vs Caledonian Braves

University of Stirling and Caledonian Braves had equal share of the points, last season – with Stirling Uni winning 3-1 at Alliance Park, and The Braves leaving Forthbank with a 1-0 win.

After a phenomenal 22/23 campaign that saw them finish 4th and exiting the Scottish Cup Fourth Round to Dundee United, it was always going to be difficult for Stirling Uni to be able to emulate that – particularly when losing key, senior players.

Having lost their two opening games 3-1 and 3-0 to Linlithgow Rose and Cumbernauld Colts, the Uni followed that up with 1-1 and 2-2 draws with East Kilbride and Berwick Rangers, and are looking for their first win.

A difficult start for Caledonian Braves, who, like Stirling Uni, have also had to deal with losing key players.

Since their opening day 1-0 win over Berwick Rangers, The Braves have went on a three-game losing streak of 5-1 to Celtic B, 2-0 to Broomhill, and 1-0 to Linlithgow Rose, and will be desperate to get back to winning ways.

University of Stirling vs East Kilbride

Both sides met on three occasions, last season – twice in the League, and the other being in the Lowland League Cup.

The Uni went the league campaign without losing to The Kilby – with the games ending in a 2-0 victory and a 2-2 draw. But, EK would get their win en route to lifting the Lowland League Cup, thanks to a 2-1 win in the semi-final.

Having lost 3-0 to Cumbernauld Colts midweek, The Uni will be looking to quickly find the home form of last season – that saw them win 10 of their last 11 matches at Forthbank.

Kennedy’s Kilby will take confidence travelling up to Stirling, after brushing Gretna 2008 aside with a comprehensive 7-0 win away from home.

East Kilbride have scored nine goals in their opening two games, with eight different players on the scoresheet.

University of Stirling vs Cumbernauld Colts

When the sides faced-off last season, it was the students who took maximum points, on both occasions – winning 3-1 and 2-0.

After ending the 22/23 campaign in fourth place – six points behind Champions and Playoff Winners, Spartans, Uni will be disappointed to have lost 3-1 to Linlithgow Rose on the opening day.

Having lost key-players Ben Fry, Euan McGill, Jamie Thompson, and James Berry, amongst others, Uni look a different outfit, but will be aiming to get their first points on the board, tonight.

Cumbernauld Colts got their season underway with the strongest of starts – defeating Celtic B 1-0 at Broadwood, thanks to Billy Mortimer’s finish on the half-hour mark.

The Colts hold an impressive four-game undefeated streak against the Young Hoops, and will be hoping to take points off Stirling Uni, tonight – something they weren’t able to do, last season.
