Broomhill vs Civil Service Strollers

Both sides shared the spoils with home victories, last season – with Civil Service Strollers winning 3-1, and Broomhill securing a 4-1 win.

Broomhill currently sit in 9th place with 11 points from eight games – made up of three wins, three defeats, and two draws.

Having been undefeated in five league games, as well as keeping five consecutive clean sheets, the Broom come into this with back-to-back defeats.

Civil Service Strollers find themselves in 7th place with 14 points from eight played – made up of four wins, two draws, and two defeats.

Strollers have lost only one of their previous six Lowland League games – with that bump in the road coming at the cost of Gretna 2008’s first win of the season. They’ll be coming in with confidence, having bounced back with a 2-0 win over Bo’ness United.

Broomhill vs Gala Fairydean Rovers

Last season, both sides managed to secure convincing home wins against each other – Broomhill winning 5-1, and Gala Fairydean Rovers with a 4-1 victory.

Broomhill currently sit 6th in the league – with three wins, two draws, and a defeat.

Since their 2-1 opening day defeat away to East Kilbride, the Broom haven’t lost, or conceded – making that six consecutive clean sheets, including a South Challenge Cup tie v Neilston.

Gala Fairydean Rovers find themselves 15th in the league – with four defeats, one win, and one draw.

GFR come into this off the back of three heavy defeats – 5-0 v Celtic B, 6-1 v East Kilbride, and 5-0 v Linlithgow Rose, and will be hoping to start finding the back of the net, and points on the board.

Broomhill vs Edinburgh University

Last season, Broomhill defeated Edinburgh University 4-1 on both occasions.

Broomhill have had a confident start to the campaign – losing 2-1 to East Kilbride on the opening day, with Calvin McGrory’s ‘Goal of the Month’ being the decider five minutes from time.

They have since defeated newly promoted Linlithgow Rose and Caley Braves 2-0, both at their new surroundings of Dumbarton.

Edinburgh Uni have seen a total of 15 goals over their two fixtures played. Unfortunately for The Students, they have been on the wrong side on both occasions – losing 4-3 at home to Civil Service Strollers, and 6-2 away to Tranent.

Broomhill vs Caledonian Braves

Broomhill were the victors on both occasions, last season – defeating Caley Braves 3-1 and 3-2.

The Broom will be pleased with their start to this season’s campaign – losing 2-1 in a competitive opening fixture v East Kilbride, and a 2-0 win over newly promoted side, Linlithgow Rose.

Corey O’Donnell scored for Broomhill in both games, and will be looking to continue his goalscoring form against The Braves.

Caley Braves opened their campaign with a 1-0 win over Berwick Rangers at Alliance Park – with Jamie Watson getting on the scoresheet.

Watson equalised against Celtic B midweek, but the Young Hoops proved to be too strong, winning 5-1.

Broomhill vs Linlithgow Rose

After battling for their equaliser nine minutes from the end – thanks to Corey O’Donnell’s effort from the edge of the box, there wasn’t much they could do to stop Calvin McGrory’s rocket into the top corner with five left on the clock – leaving K-Park empty-handed and a 2-1 opening day defeat.

Stephen Swift took confidence in how competitive his side were against a strong opposition, and he’ll be looking for the same as they host newly promoted, Linlithgow Rose.

Having won the East of Scotland Premier Division last season, Linlithgow Rose looked to continue the form in their new environment – kicking off their Lowland League campaign with a 3-1 win against Stirling Uni, with three ‘Goal of the Month’ contenders, in the process

A midweek fixture in Dumbarton is never easy, and The Rose will need to keep up the intensity to break down the bullish barrier of Broomhill.
