The Scottish Lowland Football League, along with the Highland League is the 5th tier of Scottish football.

Bo’ness United vs Heart of Midlothian B

Both sides shared the points with home victories, last season – with Bo’ness United winning 4-1, and Hearts B winning 2-0.

Bo’ness United currently sit in 5th place with 21 points from their 10 games played – made up of seven wins and three defeats.

With three wins from four in all competitions – including their last two league games and knocking Darvel out of the Scottish Cup with a 3-0 victory, the B.U’s will come into this with a sense of optimism.

Hearts B currently sit in 2nd place (on goal difference) with 23 points from their 12 games played – made up of six wins, five draws, and one defeat.

The Wee Jambos are on a run of seven games undefeated – three wins and four draws, including their recent 1-1 with East Stirlingshire.

Caledonian Braves vs Gala Fairydean Rovers

Caledonian Braves got the better of Gala Fairydean Rovers, last season – drawing 2-2, winning 4-0, and also knocked them out of the Lowland League Cup.

Caledonian Braves currently sit 13th in the table with 11 points from 11 games played – made up of three wins, two draws, and six defeats.

The Braves have won three of their last five games – with league wins over Gretna 2008 and Edinburgh University, and a South Challenge Cup win over Girvan. Between the victories is a league loss to Bo’ness United, and a Scottish Cup exit to Fraserburgh.

Gala Fairydean Rovers currently sit 7th in the table with 17 points from their 11 games played – made up of five wins, two draws, and four defeats.

Having suffered three heavy defeats in a row (conceding 16 and scoring one in the process), GFR have hit a real purple patch of form – with their six previous games made up of four league wins, a draw, and an 8-2 victory in the Scottish Cup v Strathspey Thistle.

Edinburgh University vs Cumbernauld Colts

Both sides secured away victories, last season – with Cumbernauld Colts winning 6-0, and Edinburgh University winning 3-1.

Edinburgh University currently sit bottom of the table with only a single point – having lost 10 of their 11 played, and drawing the other.

Since their 2-2 draw with Linlithgow Rose, the Uni have suffered six straight defeats in all competitions – including South Challenge and Scottish Cup exits at the hands of Berwick Rangers and Dunbar United.

Cumbernauld Colts currently sit in 3rd place with 23 points from their 12 games played – made up of seven wins, two draws, and three defeats.

The Colts have won five of their last eight games – four league matches, most recently their 2-0 win over Cowdenbeath, and a South Challenge Cup win over Hill of Beath Hawthorn. The other results are made up of a draw and two defeats, one being their Scottish Cup exit at the hands of Broomhill.

Gretna 2008 vs Cowdenbeath

Both sides shared the points with home victories, last season – Cowdenbeath winning 3-0, and Gretna 2008 winning 1-0.

Gretna 2008 currently sit second from bottom – having lost 11 of their 12 games played, and defeating Civil Service Strollers to make up their three points.

Since their victory over Strollers, the Anvils have lost five of their six matches – four in the league, and a Scottish Cup exit on penalties v Musselburgh Athletic. Their other result came with a dramatic extra-time win over Darvel in the South Challenge Cup.

Cowdenbeath currently sit in 12th place with 13 points from their 10 games played – made up of three wins, four draws, and three defeats.

The Blue Brazil have won three of their last six matches – including South Challenge and Scottish Cup victories over Kilsyth Rangers and Linlithgow Rose. The other results are made up of a draw and two defeats, most recently losing to Cumbernauld Colts.

Celtic B vs East Stirlingshire

Celtic B took maximum points off East Stirlingshire, last season – thanks to 3-0 and 2-1 victories.

Celtic B currently sit in 11th place with 13 points from their nine games played – made up of four wins, one draw, and four defeats.

The Young Hoops come into this off the back of a 1-1 draw with Lazio in the UEFA Youth League – with Mackenzie Carse’s injury-time spot kick securing the point in dramatic fashion.

East Stirlingshire currently sit in 15th place with 10 points from their 12 games played – made up of two wins, four draws, and six defeats.

The Shire will come into this with some confidence having held second placed Hearts B to a 1-1 draw at Falkirk Stadium.

Albion Rovers vs Tranent

Both sides have met on only one occasion – with a Niyah Joseph double securing the 2-0 win for Albion Rovers to knock Tranent out of the SPFL Trust Trophy, in August.

Albion Rovers currently sit in 13th place with 10 points from their six games played – made up of three wins, one draw, and two losses.

Rovers come into this off the back of knocking University of Stirling out of the Scottish Cup – with the 3-1 victory being broadcast live on BBC Scotland.

Tranent currently sit in 4th place with 19 points from their nine games played – made up of six wins, one draw, and two defeats.

The Big T come into this on good form, with five consecutive wins in all competitions – scoring 19 goals and conceding only two along the way.

Bo’ness United vs Broomhill

Both sides shared the points with some high-scoring away victories, last season – Bo’ness United winning 4-3, and Broomhill winning 3-2.

Bo’ness United currently sit in 5th place with 18 points from their nine games played – made up of six wins and three losses.

After a disappointing South Challenge Cup exit at the hands of Cumbernauld United, the B.U’s will come into this with confidence – having bounced back by knocking last season’s giant killers, Darvel out of the Scottish Cup with a 3-0 win.

Broomhill currently sit in 9th place with 14 points from their ten games played – made up of four wins, two draws, and four defeats.

Broomhill also suffered a disappointing South Challenge Cup exit at the hands of Irvine Meadow, but put that behind them as they knocked fellow Lowland League side, Cumbernauld Colts out of the Scottish Cup with a 3-1 win.

The Broom have yet to find a victory away from home, this season.

Celtic B vs University of Stirling

Both sides shared the points with home victories, last season – with Celtic B winning 6-0, and Stirling Uni winning 2-1.

Celtic B currently sit in 12th place with 10 points from their eight games played – made up of three wins, one draw, and four defeats.

The Young Hoops won their last Lowland League game 2-1 v Albion Rovers, but have since suffered back-to-back defeats – 5-0 v West Ham U21’s in the Premier League Cup, and 3-0 v Feyenoord in the UEFA Youth League.

University of Stirling currently sit in 15th place with nine points from their nine games played – made up of two wins, three draws, and four defeats.

The Students come into this having been knocked out of the SPFL Trust Trophy and Scottish Cup since their last league fixture, with 3-2 and 3-1 defeats at the hands of Airdrieonians and Albion Rovers.
