League: Lowland League

The Scottish Lowland Football League, along with the Highland League is the 5th tier of Scottish football.

Cumbernauld Colts vs Albion Rovers

This is the first time both sides have met on official duty – with previous meetings taken place in the pre-season North Lanarkshire Cup.

Cumbernauld Colts currently sit in 2nd place level with league leaders, East Kilbride, with 32 points. Colts have played three more games – with ten wins, two draws, and three defeats making up the 15 played.

The Colts are on a five-game winning streak, scoring 16 along the way. We need to go back to 29th July 2023 to find the last time Colts failed to score, drawing 0-0 with Berwick Rangers.

Rovers have a win and a draw in their last two league games – defeating Berwick Rangers 1-0 and drawing 0-0 with Cowdenbeath. In between, they defeated St Andrews United 2-1 to progress to the next round of the Scottish Cup, welcoming former Lowland League Champions and now League Two side, Bonnyrigg Rose.

Gala Fairydean Rovers vs Civil Service Strollers

Gala Fairydean Rovers took maximum points off Civil Service Strollers, last season – thanks to 3-1 and 2-1 victories.

Heart of Midlothian B vs University of Stirling

University of Stirling took maximum points off Hearts B, last season – winning 4-2 and 4-0.

Hearts B currently sit in 3rd place with 30 points from their 15 games played – made up of eight wins, six draws, and one defeat.

The Wee Jambos are on a 10-game unbeaten run – and will be looking at the Lowland League’s top scorer, Makenzie Kirk to add to his tally of 18 goals, whilst trying to secure another positive result.

University of Stirling currently sit in 13th place with 15 points from their 12 games played – made up of four wins, three draws, and five defeats.

Uni come into this with back-to-back victories over Albion Rovers and Bo’ness United – winning 1-0 and 3-1.

Celtic B vs Linlithgow Rose

This is the first time both sides have faced each other.

Celtic B currently sit in 14th place with 13 points from their 12 games played – made up of four wins, one draw, and seven defeats.

The Young Hoops are currently on a four-game losing streak – most recently their 2-0 defeat to Atletico Madrid in the UEFA Youth League, and have won only two of their last 12 matches – with one other result being a draw.

Linlithgow Rose currently sit in 8th place with 19 points from their 12 games played – made up of five wins, four draws, and three defeats.

The Rosey Posey won their last outing a week and a half ago – defeating Civil Service Strollers 2-0 at home.

Cowdenbeath v Albion Rovers

Both sides last met each other in the 21/22 season as League Two outfits – Albion Rovers defeated Cowdenbeath 1-0 in the last meeting, as well as 2-1 earlier that season. Cowdenbeath did get one over Rovers, winning 1-0, with the other result ending in a 0-0 draw.

The Blue Brazil come into this off the back of a Scottish Cup Second Round victory over Kilwinning Rangers, winning 1-0. The result put them in the hat for the Third Round, where they face an away trip to Championship side, Inverness Caledonian Thistle.

Rovers also come into this fresh off progressing into the Scottish Cup Third Round – thanks to a 2-1 win over St Andrews United. They will welcome former Lowland League Champions and now League Two side, Bonnyrigg Rose.

University of Stirling vs Bo’ness United

Bo’ness United got the better of University of Stirling, last season – with the games ending in a 2-2 draw and a 2-1 win for the B.U’s.

University of Stirling currently sit in 15th place with 12 points from their 11 games played – made up of three wins, three draws, and five defeats.

The Students come into this with back-to-back victories – defeating Thorniewood 4-1 in the South Challenge Cup, and their recent 1-0 league win away to Albion Rovers.

Bo’ness United currently sit in 5th place with 25 points from their 12 games played – made up of eight wins, one draw, and three defeats.

The B.U’s have won three of their last four matches – including their recent 1-0 victory over Celtic B, with the other result coming in the shape of a 3-3 draw with Hearts B.

Albion Rovers vs Berwick Rangers

The last time both sides met was in League Two duty for the 2018/19 season. Albion Rovers won the last fixture 3-0, with the prior matches ending in a 1-1 draw, and Berwick Rangers winning 5-3 and 2-0.

Albion Rovers currently sit in 16th place with 10 points from their eight games played – made up of three wins, one draw, and four defeats.

The ‘Rovers Revival’ has took a hit recently with back-to-back home defeats at the hands of Tranent and University of Stirling – with the games ending 3-1 and 1-0.
