Scott Milligan made the move from Dalbeattie to Gretna last week.
Milly has been a tremendous player for the Dalbeattie since making his debut in January 2008 and in just under seven years he has scored an incredible 278 goals for the Star.
A post on the clubs website said “He has always been a firm favourite with the fans and staff alike and everyone will be sorry to see him go.
“However he hasn’t featured as often as he would have liked this term and the chance to go to Gretna was too good to turn down.
“It goes without saying that everyone at Islecroft wishes Milly all the very best and look forward to seeing him back here in December when the two sides meet in the League Cup – just as long as he doesn’t score!”
Gretna’s Ian Richmond said “Scott is a proven scorer topping the scoring charts at Star for several seasons.”
Elsewhere Chris Anderson departed Vale of Leithen this week, the popular player made the announcement on social media on Monday.
Spartans have transfer listed midfielder Sean Muhsin. The former Dunfermline Athletic and Heriot-Watt Uni player has started 9 games this season and during his time with Spartans has played 41 times, chipping in with 8 goals.
