Edusport Academy win promotion to the Lowland League

The Scottish Lowland Football League can confirm that Edusport Academy have been promoted to the Lowland League.

Edusport won the South of Scotland League and will replace demoted, Preston Athletic.

Director of Edusport Academy, Chris Ewing, said “As champions of the South of Scotland League, we are delighted to be promoted to the SLFL after what proved to be a very competitive season.

“It’s particularly pleasing to win promotion, having failed to gain entry into the league following two unsuccessful application attempts and we look forward to the challenges ahead with enthusiasm and determination.

“I would a like to extend a special mention to the South of Scotland league, of whom we are eternally grateful for giving us the opportunity to join their league and as a result the pyramid system.”

Preston Athletic are founder members of the Lowland League and will play next season in the East of Scotland Football League.

Preston reached the league cup final and will go down in the history books as being the first team to score a goal in the Lowland League.
